Responsibilities
- Build backend services and client-side code for Taboola recommendation ad formats and user experiences.
- Own features from design and development through testing, deployment, monitoring, and maintenance.
- Develop high-scale backend services serving billions of requests per day with emphasis on performance, resilience, and observability.
- Develop ad formats including carousel, app install, and video ads.
- Use data and performance metrics to guide product and business decisions.
- Build AI agents, skills, and workflows for automated code reviews, data analysis, production anomaly investigation, feature validation, and debugging.
- Collaborate with Product, Data, and UX teams on product design and implementation.
Requirements
- At least 3 years of hands-on full-stack programming experience.
- Daily use of AI coding tools such as Claude Code, Cursor, or Codex.
- Hands-on server-side development experience; Java or an equivalent object-oriented language is advantageous.
- Understanding of vanilla JavaScript, CSS, and HTML; React and TypeScript knowledge is advantageous.
- Experience working with databases.
- BSc in Computer Science or equivalent.
- Preferred experience includes high-scale or distributed backend systems, message queues, caching, concurrency, cross-browser and multi-device support, AI agents and automated workflows, and advanced JavaScript and web concepts.
- Familiarity with Web Components, Lighthouse, Maven, Docker, Kubernetes, BigQuery, MySQL, or Grafana is a plus.
