Base Salary
$217k - $304k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design and implement platform features that improve the speed, power, and usability of Reddit’s developer platform.
- Lead major technical initiatives from early exploration through launch.
- Build and evolve core platform services, capabilities, systems, and tools for external developer experiences.
- Work across backend, infrastructure, client, SDK, and full-stack components.
- Contribute across technical design, development, testing, experimentation, analysis, and launch.
- Review code, design documents, product specifications, and user experiences.
- Shape team strategy and the future direction of the platform.
- Share knowledge, mentor teammates, review engineering practices, and contribute to a culture of thoughtful ownership.
Requirements
- 6+ years of industry experience working on platform functionality, developer tools, full-stack products, or app platforms.
- Experience leading large-scale technical projects from design through delivery.
- API design and platform engineering experience with strong developer empathy.
- Familiarity with Go, TypeScript, GraphQL, React, Redis, and relational or NoSQL databases.
- Ability to work across the technology stack when needed.
- Habit of using AI tools to improve productivity and software quality.
- Track record of mentoring engineers and improving software engineering practices and team culture.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to explain complex topics to technical and non-technical audiences.
- Entrepreneurial, self-directed, curious, and comfortable working with ambiguity.
- Open-source contributions, native mobile development, or experience building Reddit apps with the Devvit platform are bonus qualifications.

- US base salary range of $217,000–$303,900, plus potential restricted stock units and, depending on the position, commission.
