
Senior Software Engineer - Network Connectivity (Go/Rust)

Responsibilities
- Design systems, write specifications, develop code with git, create release plans, coordinate system changes, and roll out production releases.
- Participate in the full software development lifecycle, including automated testing, deployment, monitoring, and production operations.
- Participate in the team’s on-call rotation to maintain production system uptime.
- Investigate and resolve customer issues escalated to the Egress team.
- Collaborate with Engineering, Network Engineering, and SRE teams to translate requirements into platform capabilities.
- Answer questions from other teams and use AI-powered tools to analyze codebases, production systems, and datasets.
Requirements
- Programming experience in Go or Rust and willingness to develop skills in both.
- Solid understanding of Layer 3 and Layer 4 networking protocols.
- Knowledge of HTTP, TLS, and CDN networks.
- Experience implementing secure and highly available distributed systems.
- Strong debugging ability for complex systems.
- Experience or interest in HTTP networking, VPN technologies, network performance monitoring, and tuning.
- Knowledge of TCP/IP and Internet routing is a bonus.
- Professional Rust systems-programming experience is a bonus.
- Experience building tools and APIs is a bonus.
- Experience monitoring, alerting, and debugging large-scale distributed systems is a bonus.
- Experience with on-call rotations and AI-assisted development tools is a bonus.
