Responsibilities
- Design, develop, test, and maintain Android applications and services across multiple product domains.
- Translate product and technical requirements into scalable, maintainable, performant, secure solutions.
- Apply system design, low-level design, API design, and data modeling principles to mobile and service integrations.
- Own engineering work from design and implementation through testing, deployment, and ongoing operation.
- Collaborate with engineering, product, design, and other technical teams to resolve complex problems.
- Contribute to technical direction, operational excellence, testing, monitoring, debugging, documentation, and continuous improvement.
- Safely integrate AI/ML-enabled solutions and relevant development workflows into Android products.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Experience developing production Android applications and services using appropriate mobile engineering practices, tools, and programming languages.
- Experience owning engineering work for a service or product area through design, implementation, testing, deployment, and operation.
- Proficiency in system design, low-level design, API design, data modeling, software testing, debugging, and performance optimization.
- Ability to collaborate across teams and apply technical judgment to deliver reliable solutions across multiple domains.
- Preferred: experience designing Android solutions that operate reliably at scale across multiple services or product areas.
- Preferred: technical leadership experience in mobile architecture and implementation decisions.
- Preferred: strong observability, incident response, performance analysis, and production improvement practices.
- Preferred: experience using data and customer or product insights to evaluate technical tradeoffs.
- Preferred: practical experience applying AI/ML concepts or AI-enabled development workflows to Android products.
