Responsibilities
- Define and drive the one- to two-year technical strategy and global platformization across core backend surfaces.
- Architect and build low-latency, high-concurrency distributed infrastructure using Go, Java, or C++.
- Develop reusable libraries and SDKs that shift local features into shared platform capabilities.
- Serve as an escalation point for severe production incidents, establish latency targets, and run blameless post-mortems.
- Reduce technical debt and optimize system performance across engineering organizations.
- Build technical alignment across teams and translate complex business requirements into modular, extensible system designs.
- Lead through technical influence and coach senior engineers across the organization.
Requirements
- 10+ years of software engineering experience focused on high-concurrency distributed backend systems.
- A proven track record of serving as the technical reference for multiple cross-functional squads.
- Experience with multi-threading, core memory management, lock contention, memory leaks, event-driven architectures, distributed transactions, and system idempotency.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or Engineering, or equivalent practical industry experience.
- Experience building internal frameworks or shared services that improve developer velocity is preferred.
- Strong judgment in buy-versus-build decisions and planned technical debt management is preferred.
- Experience with large-scale observability and monitoring frameworks is preferred.
- Ability to operate in ambiguous environments and lead through technical influence is preferred.
