Base Salary
$143k - $304k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design and build distributed services for Microsoft’s large-scale CI/CD infrastructure.
- Orchestrate compute across virtual machines, containers, and custom lab environments at millions of resources per day.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to define requirements, dependencies, design documents, estimates, project plans, and release plans.
- Create, optimize, debug, refactor, and reuse code to improve performance, maintainability, effectiveness, and ROI.
- Serve as a Designated Responsible Individual by developing operational playbooks, participating in on-call rotations, monitoring service health, and leading incident restoration.
- Improve availability, reliability, efficiency, observability, performance, monitoring, and operational excellence.
- Mentor and guide engineers during incident response and contribute to engineering practices at global scale.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related technical field and 6+ years of technical engineering experience with coding, or equivalent experience.
- Experience coding in one or more of C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python.
- Ability to meet Microsoft, customer, and/or government security screening requirements, including the Microsoft Cloud background check.
- Preferred: 10+ years of technical engineering experience with coding.
- Preferred: proven experience designing and building distributed services at scale.
- Preferred: proficiency with Azure services or other cloud services.
- Preferred: proficiency in C#.
