Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services and APIs using C#/.NET and Python on Microsoft Azure.
  • Architect cloud-native application components using Azure App Service, Azure Functions, Azure SQL Database, Storage, Service Bus, and Event Grid.
  • Implement authentication and authorization with Microsoft Entra ID, app registrations, RBAC, and managed identities.
  • Design and secure API integrations using OAuth2 and OpenID Connect.
  • Build and maintain multi-stage CI/CD pipelines in Azure DevOps across development, staging, and production environments.
  • Package services with Docker and support deployment to Azure Kubernetes Service and Azure Container Apps.
  • Partner with cloud and infrastructure engineering on networking, environment configuration, and deployment practices.
  • Instrument applications with Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, and Application Insights, and lead production troubleshooting.
  • Participate in architecture and design discussions addressing scalability, security, cost, and maintainability.
  • Conduct code reviews, mentor engineers, and improve engineering practices through knowledge sharing.
  • Collaborate with product, QA, and business stakeholders to communicate technical decisions.
  • Evaluate and integrate AI-assisted development and Azure AI tooling.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • At least 5 years of professional software development experience, including hands-on experience building and deploying applications on Microsoft Azure.
  • Strong proficiency in C# and/or Python for backend or service-oriented development.
  • Strong understanding of Azure App Service, Azure Functions, Azure SQL Database, Storage, and messaging services such as Service Bus or Event Grid.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Entra ID, authentication and authorization flows, app registrations, RBAC, and managed identities.
  • Experience designing and securing APIs with OAuth2 and OpenID Connect authentication patterns.
  • Hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines, ideally Azure DevOps, including multi-stage builds and release approvals.
  • Familiarity with Docker and exposure to Kubernetes or Azure Container Apps.
  • Proficiency with Git-based version control and Agile/Scrum delivery practices.
  • Strong application and cloud-infrastructure troubleshooting and debugging skills.
  • Excellent communication skills with technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Ability to mentor engineers and elevate practices through code review and knowledge sharing.
  • Preferred experience with AKS, Azure Container Apps, Bicep, ARM templates, Terraform, Azure API Management, Azure AI services, GitOps, Flux, ArgoCD, Microsoft Azure certifications, Key Vault, Defender for Cloud, Azure Policy, test automation, TDD/BDD, FinOps, and informal technical leadership.
