Base Salary
$140k - $260k/yr
Responsibilities
- Build frontend, backend, and occasional mobile features for creator communities and user connections.
- Own work autonomously from product concept and research through implementation and deployment.
- Collaborate with designers, writers, support staff, and other cross-functional partners.
- Contribute product ideas, prototypes, and UI/UX improvements for products serving millions of users.
Requirements
- At least 7 years of software engineering experience.
- Ability to work independently and autonomously while taking ownership of work.
- High standards for production systems and software quality.
- Interest in building elegant, delightful product experiences.
- Ability to collaborate with a diverse group of thinkers.
- Commitment to Substack’s mission of enabling independent expression and improving the business model for writing.
- Experience with ML technology is beneficial but not required.
- Experience at a fast-growing startup or high-performing growth team is a plus but not required.
