Responsibilities
- Architect and execute Tekion’s strategic vision for Applied AI and Machine Learning.
- Drive the R&D roadmap by identifying emerging technological opportunities.
- Serve as the primary technical liaison between the R&D organization and executive leadership.
- Contribute to the scientific community through publications and conferences.
- Partner with Product, Engineering, Data, and Business teams to integrate ML capabilities.
- Translate applied science prototypes into scalable production services.
- Review, refactor, and optimize data science models for production readiness.
- Mentor applied scientists and engineers to foster technical excellence.
- Build and operate robust CI/CD pipelines for machine learning systems.
- Develop high-performance inference microservices with strict latency targets.
- Design and implement batch and streaming data pipelines.
- Implement advanced prompt management frameworks for LLMs.
- Monitor and mitigate risks unique to LLMs and agent-based systems.
- Own the end-to-end model and feature lifecycle.
- Build deep observability across model performance and safety signals.
- Create reusable templates and documentation for ML delivery.
Requirements
- Advanced degree (M.S. or Ph.D. preferred) in a quantitative discipline.
- 6+ years of experience in applied science, machine learning, or quantitative research.
- Proven ability to translate complex models into measurable business impact.
- Strong programming skills in Python and mastery of SQL.
- Expert-level proficiency with ML frameworks like TensorFlow and PyTorch.
- Experience with large-scale data manipulation and building production-grade models.
- Demonstrated experience with Large Language Models and advanced prompt engineering.
- Strong data visualization and executive communication skills.
