Base Salary
$266k - $372k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design and build large-scale systems powering end-to-end search relevance at scale.
- Advance Reddit Search and Recommendations through AI-driven search experiences.
- Improve retrieval and ranking, build search indexes, and develop and test search pipeline components.
- Deploy ML models, integrate LLMs, and provide monitoring and reliable product integration.
- Drive the vision and long-term roadmap for the search relevance team.
- Collaborate with ML, Product, Infrastructure, Data Science, and other cross-functional teams.
- Mentor and guide senior and staff engineers.
- Influence organization-wide technical direction and partner with senior leadership.
Requirements
- 10+ years of industry experience with deep expertise in large-scale search and recommendation systems.
- Proven ability to identify opportunities, define roadmaps, and drive scalable improvements in search relevance.
- Strong experience building and deploying large-scale ML models using PyTorch or TensorFlow.
- Production experience with LLMs, including evaluation, tuning, and deployment.
- In-depth knowledge of lexical and semantic retrieval systems.
- Proficiency in object-oriented programming with Python and Golang.
- Experience building production agentic AI frameworks is preferred.
