Responsibilities
- Design, build, and operate extensible, reliable, and usable production systems.
- Write and review code while setting high engineering standards.
- Build end-to-end support product experiences focused on user needs.
- Set technical strategy and architecture for support products.
- Partner with engineering management, product managers, and company leaders on long-term vision.
- Unblock teams and make roadmap tradeoffs balancing business priorities, user experience, and technical sustainability.
- Improve engineering standards, tooling, and processes.
- Teach and mentor engineers and help develop future technical leaders.
Requirements
- 10+ years of professional backend or full-stack development experience, including actively writing and reviewing code.
- Experience setting and executing long-term technical strategy for a large product area.
- Ability to prioritize competing requirements and stakeholders while shipping product features and driving alignment.
- Proven technical leadership and meaningful contributions to the growth of other engineers.
- User empathy and a customer-centric approach to problem solving and product development.
- Preferred: experience building software systems for customer support or operations organizations.
- Preferred: experience leading projects across multiple teams and time zones.
- Preferred: proficiency in JavaScript, TypeScript, Ruby, Java, and React.
- Preferred: experience designing, deploying, and owning agentic LLM solutions for customer support or internal workflow automation.
