Senior Security Engineer (SOC) (m,f,x)
HelloFreshResponsibilities
- Mature logging and monitoring for cloud, IT, and application workloads through automation and infrastructure as code.
- Filter, ingest, and optimize security events from application, Kubernetes, CloudTrail, CloudFlare, and ELB logs.
- Conduct threat hunts for fileless malware and advanced persistent threats using endpoint, operating system, and network telemetry.
- Write scripts for security automation, data parsing, and detection logic using programming and AI-assisted development tools.
- Develop advanced correlation and cross-correlation rules to detect sophisticated attacks and fraud cases.
- Generate security metrics and incident reports measuring SOC effectiveness.
- Lead incident detection and response in AWS cloud and enterprise IT environments.
- Coordinate communications with Berlin SOC leadership and local IT and business stakeholders during active incidents.
- Improve detection rules, standard operating procedures, workflows, and team knowledge-base content.
- Mentor L1 SOC team members, conduct purple teaming workshops, and participate in capture-the-flag events.
Requirements
- Proven experience in security monitoring and incident response in public cloud environments.
- Experience with cloud SIEM and SOAR platforms, DDoS mitigation tools, and Layer 7 web perimeter security controls.
- Excellent automation programming skills in Python and Go.
- Ability to use AI coding assistants to write and debug Python scripts for security automation and data parsing.
- Proficiency writing detection rules with Sigma and KQL.
- Understanding of network intrusion methods, network containment, segregation techniques, sandboxes, and intrusion detection and prevention systems.
- Ability to analyze disparate log sources and reduce noise from meaningful signals.
- Strong communication, reporting, documentation, and stakeholder-update skills.
- Command of log analysis stacks including Elasticsearch, Splunk, Sumo Logic, and Graylog.
- Willingness to work on-call in rotational shifts and meet response-time and incident-closure metrics.
