Responsibilities
- Create comprehensive test plans for complex scenarios and define appropriate testing methods.
- Execute manual and automated unit, integration, regression, user interface, boundary, API, and acceptance testing.
- Test software across development, test, and production environments, including incomplete features with appropriately narrowed scope.
- Work independently while embedded in agile development teams and collaborate with developers, product owners, business owners, and product management.
- Clarify requirements, validate expected behavior, and help define acceptance criteria.
- Evaluate testing practices with the agile team and identify effective ways for QA to support delivery.
- Use test case management, project management, continuous integration, Unix/Linux, browser development, and server-log analysis tools.
Requirements
- At least 2 years of experience in a software quality assurance or test automation role.
- Knowledge of white-box and black-box testing, front-end and back-end development, and comprehensive test planning.
- Ability to define and execute unit, integration, regression, user interface, automated, and boundary testing.
- Experience working independently within development teams and collaborating with technical and business stakeholders.
- Familiarity with Jira, Jenkins, Cruise Control, Go, and Unix/Linux command-line operations.
- Preferred experience testing Java-based applications, REST APIs, Flash or HTML5 video players, and large data sets.
- Preferred programming or scripting experience with Java, JavaScript, or Python; basic SQL and relational database knowledge; and experience parsing server-side logs.
- Preferred experience with continuous integration environments, browser development tools, HTTP protocols, and tools such as FitNesse, SoapUI, Advanced REST Client, Postman, QTP, JMeter, and Selenium.
- Knowledge of or experience with MySQL, Kafka, Hive, Hadoop, Cassandra, or MapR is a plus.
