Responsibilities
- Design, maintain, and evolve backend services and APIs connecting Phantom Cash to blockchains.
- Build scalable Node.js and NestJS systems using event-driven design, queues, retries, and idempotency.
- Develop REST APIs with versioning, pagination, error models, authentication, and rate limiting.
- Apply distributed-systems fundamentals involving concurrency, ordering, retries, and data consistency.
- Balance reliability, quality, latency, execution speed, and user impact when delivering products.
- Communicate across pods, document technical decisions, mentor engineers, and raise the engineering bar.
- Support Kubernetes and AWS operations, observability, on-call ownership, and blockchain integrations as needed.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Experience building Node.js and NestJS systems at scale.
- Knowledge of event-driven design, queues, retries, and idempotency.
- Strong understanding of REST API architecture and distributed-systems fundamentals.
- Understanding of client-server architecture, state-management trade-offs, and latency budgets.
- Pragmatic, proactive, outcome-oriented engineering approach with strong communication and problem-solving skills.
