Responsibilities
- Lead the design and evaluation of enterprise security architectures aligned with Zero Trust Architecture principles.
- Coordinate with enterprise architects and systems security engineers to allocate and implement security controls.
- Translate operational needs and stakeholder interests into technical requirements and functional specifications.
- Support Risk Management Framework activities, including system life-cycle support plans and operational procedures.
- Manage security requirements throughout the acquisition life cycle and evaluate vendor-proposed security designs.
- Conduct security reviews and design modeling, identify architecture gaps, and develop risk management plans.
- Categorize systems, define security boundaries, and document protection needs for information systems and networks.
- Advise senior leadership and authorized officials on design concepts, project costs, and vulnerability impacts.
Requirements
- 10+ years of professional cybersecurity experience, including 5+ years in security architecture or a senior technical role.
- Certification such as CISSP, GIAC Security Enterprise Architect, or GIAC Defensible Security Architecture.
- Demonstrated ability to analyze complex requirements and convert them into actionable tasks and processes.
- Demonstrated experience architecting secure enterprise systems using Zero Trust Architecture principles.
- Deep proficiency documenting IT architectures with TOGAF, DoDAF, or FEAF.
- Knowledge of identity management, micro-segmentation, secure cloud or hybrid IT delivery, NIST 800-series guidance, FedRAMP, and the Risk Management Framework.
- Technical expertise in network security, encryption algorithms, and countermeasures for cyber threats and vulnerabilities.
- U.S. citizenship and eligibility to obtain and maintain a security clearance.
- A bachelor's degree in cybersecurity, computer science, information technology, engineering, or a related field is beneficial.
