Responsibilities
- Lead development of cross-platform desktop applications using Tauri, Rust, and Next.js for macOS and Windows.
- Own the desktop experience from architecture and native integrations through frontend implementation, performance, delivery, and maintainability.
- Build high-performance Rust components for real-time audio capture, transcription pipelines, local state management, and secure system interactions.
- Create reliable interfaces between Rust backends and web-based frontends.
- Improve real-time transcription, AI-assisted note generation, offline/online synchronization, and healthcare-system integrations.
- Design and implement end-to-end and integration testing across Rust services, frontend interactions, and cross-process communication.
- Use AI-assisted development workflows for design, implementation, debugging, and testing.
- Advocate for engineering quality, performance, reliability, accessibility, and a strong desktop engineering culture.
- Collaborate with product, design, ML, and backend teams.
Requirements
- 5+ years of professional software engineering experience with ownership of complex systems or products.
- Strong systems-level programming experience, preferably with Rust, including performance, memory management, and concurrency.
- Hands-on experience building or maintaining desktop applications with Tauri, Electron, or native technologies.
- Understanding of operating-system concerns including file systems, permissions, packaging, and updates.
- Experience with modern frontend technologies such as React or Next.js and comfort working across the frontend-backend boundary.
- Ability to independently drive ambiguous, high-impact technical problems to resolution.
- Strong product intuition and a user-centric mindset for high-stakes professional tools.
- Ability to use AI thoughtfully for system design, problem-solving, debugging, testing, and development velocity.
- C++ or Go experience is acceptable as an alternative to Rust experience.
