Responsibilities
- Define test strategy, quality architecture, automation roadmaps, quality gates, entry and exit criteria, and quality metrics across products and teams.
- Design, own, and promote scalable reusable test automation frameworks and best practices.
- Architect functional, integration, API, performance, security, and end-to-end testing approaches.
- Review requirements and system architecture to identify quality risks and promote testable designs.
- Analyze test results across database impacts, integrations, performance, and usability to guide engineering decisions.
- Lead root-cause analysis of production issues and build preventive quality mechanisms.
- Partner with architects, developers, product teams, clients, and stakeholders on quality strategy and risk mitigation.
- Mentor and upskill QE engineers while setting technical direction for the quality organization.
- Evaluate and introduce testing tools, frameworks, technologies, and AI-assisted testing approaches.
- Estimate testing and automation work, create quality plans, and deliver actionable technical roadmaps.
Requirements
- BE/BS/MCA in Computer Science or a related field.
- 12–18+ years of professional software testing experience, including significant senior, lead, or architect-level experience.
- Experience defining test strategy and quality architecture across multiple teams or products.
- Deep expertise building test automation frameworks from the ground up using tools such as TestNG, Selenium, Playwright, or Cypress.
- Strong experience with web services and REST/GraphQL API testing and automation.
- Experience testing web applications across multiple browsers and platforms.
- Hands-on experience integrating automated testing with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or GitLab CI.
- Working knowledge of performance testing with tools such as JMeter or Gatling and security testing fundamentals.
- Familiarity with cloud environments, Docker, Kubernetes, and distributed or microservices architectures.
- Strong programming or scripting skills in Java, Python, JavaScript, TypeScript, or similar languages.
- Ability to define quality metrics, estimate testing and automation efforts, and use data for continuous improvement.
- Experience leading testing efforts, mentoring engineers, influencing technical teams, and collaborating with local and remote stakeholders.
- Strong communication, presentation, independent execution, time management, and problem-solving skills.
- Experience embedding quality practices within Scrum or similar Agile engineering environments.
