Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain backend and full-stack features using Java, Spring Boot, and database technologies.
- Modernize legacy Java applications and support migration to modular, cloud-ready and microservices-based architectures.
- Design and integrate backend services, APIs, data models, and API-, file-, and message-based integrations.
- Perform performance profiling, memory analysis, JVM tuning, and production stability improvements.
- Apply object-oriented design principles, design patterns, layered or hexagonal architecture, and clean coding practices.
- Ensure code quality through unit testing, mocking, static analysis, automated builds, deployments, and testing.
- Collaborate with product, QA, DevOps, architecture, and global engineering teams throughout the product lifecycle.
- Participate in Agile and Scrum ceremonies, release delivery, deployment, and maintenance.
- Provide technical guidance and mentoring to other engineers.
Requirements
- MCA or a bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or an equivalent qualification.
- 6–8 years of hands-on experience in Java-based software development on global or enterprise projects.
- Experience with software design patterns, layered architectures, object-oriented design, clean coding, and performance optimization.
- Strong experience with unit testing and mocking frameworks such as JUnit and Mockito.
- Hands-on knowledge of performance profiling and memory analysis.
- Experience with microservices architecture, service communication, integration patterns, Hibernate or JPA, and transaction management.
- Working knowledge of product development environments and Lean Agile or Scrum methodologies.
- Experience with Azure, Azure DevOps, Docker, cloud platforms, build and dependency management tools, and static code analysis is preferred or advantageous.
- Domain experience in shipping or logistics workflows, scientific data processing, genomics, or laboratory systems is a plus.
- Strong verbal and written communication, analytical and problem-solving skills, and a continuous improvement mindset.
