Responsibilities

Enhance, maintain, refactor, and modernize the mature C++ payroll backend.
Work with Btrieve databases and MFC interfaces supporting high-volume payroll processing.
Contribute across the product lifecycle from ideas through production deployment and ongoing optimization.
Translate complex Belgian payroll requirements into technical solutions with business experts.
Debug and troubleshoot code spanning decades of development.
Collaborate with product, management, and international team members in English.

2–3 years of C++ development experience in complex software environments.
Knowledge of STL, Boost, and MFC.
Experience with document and relational databases such as Btrieve and MS SQL.
An IT degree or equivalent practical experience.
Ability to self-educate, work autonomously, communicate clearly, collaborate internationally, and adapt to an agile environment.
Preferred: experience with legacy modernization projects, TDD, CI/CD tools such as Azure DevOps and Jenkins, Windows profiling tools such as VTune, Visual Studio, Python scripting, and payroll domain knowledge.

Permanent employment contract after a 3-month probation period.
