Responsibilities
- Write extensible and maintainable code for products, services, and features while participating in code reviews and using automated source-code analysis.
- Evaluate design options, contribute to design documentation, and consider performance, scalability, resiliency, cost, security, and compliance.
- Execute testing and quality activities, including regression prevention, security testing, negative cases, and AI-assisted test automation.
- Contribute to build and deployment automation, deployment gates, safe change practices, dependency updates, flighting, and rollback plans.
- Support live-site reliability by participating in on-call rotations, monitoring telemetry, responding to incidents within SLA, and escalating complex issues.
- Apply security, privacy, safety, accessibility, compliance, threat-modeling, and security-as-code practices.
- Use AI-assisted development tools responsibly across the software development lifecycle and review all AI-generated changes.
- Partner with product managers, technical leads, security and privacy experts, and other stakeholders to understand requirements and incorporate customer feedback.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related technical discipline with at least 1 year of coding experience in languages including C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python, or equivalent experience.
- Hands-on experience with AI-assisted development tools and responsible review of AI-generated changes is preferred.
- Experience writing maintainable code, applying coding patterns, and using automated source-code analysis tools is preferred.
- Experience with debugging tools, tests, logs, telemetry, incident retrospectives, design documentation, system dependencies, and test strategies is preferred.
- Familiarity with security as code, threat modeling, premortems, deployment gates, security monitoring, privacy, safety, and accessibility requirements is preferred.
- Experience with deployment automation, safe change practices, rollback plans, on-call rotations, live-site monitoring, playbooks, and SLA-based response is preferred.
- Experience collaborating cross-functionally and communicating technical concepts clearly is preferred.
