Responsibilities
- Build and operate foundational, security-critical services with emphasis on availability, scalability, latency, and fault tolerance.
- Write software to automate infrastructure, reduce operational toil, and improve reliability at scale.
- Design and evolve systems using SRE practices, including SLIs, SLOs, error budgets, and burn-rate alerting.
- Improve observability, alerting, and incident response while reducing detection and recovery time.
- Participate in on-call rotations and develop sustainable operations and automatic remediations.
- Perform quantitative analysis, capacity planning, load testing, and performance analysis for distributed systems.
- Identify systemic risks and reliability bottlenecks and implement long-term preventative solutions.
- Collaborate with product, platform, and security engineers on reliable architecture and systems.
- Mentor and pair with engineers and contribute to technical designs, platform APIs, runbooks, documentation, and post-incident reviews.
Requirements
- Production-quality programming experience with Python, Go, or a similar language.
- Experience building, deploying, and operating distributed cloud-native systems at scale.
- Production experience operating containerized workloads and platforms such as Kubernetes, including deployment strategies, scaling, and service networking.
- Experience with on-call rotations, production issue diagnosis, observability systems, and actionable alerting.
- Hands-on experience with infrastructure as code, declarative configuration, Terraform, Kubernetes manifests, or policy-as-code.
- Experience with capacity planning, load testing, performance analysis, and post-incident follow-up.
- Ability to review and contribute to technical designs, platform APIs, operational runbooks, and system documentation.
- Preferred experience with security-critical platforms, internal security tooling, identity and access management, secrets management, policy enforcement, AWS, resilience testing, fault injection, or chaos engineering.
- Strong understanding of algorithms and data structures at scale.
- Experience or interest in responsibly using AI tools and workflows.
Benefits
- Base salary range of €92,000–€138,000 EUR, with potential bonus, equity, sign-on payments, and health, welfare, and wellbeing benefits based on eligibility.
- The role may require up to 10% travel for onboarding, client or partner work, team meetings, and industry events, coordinated in advance.
