Base Salary
$170k - $200k/yr
Responsibilities
- Own implementation design across platform ingestion, data modeling, and consumption surfaces.
- Shape detailed architecture with the architecture team.
- Design integrations across varied production source systems.
- Build ingestion pipelines and model raw data into business-ready datasets with consistent metric definitions.
- Set engineering standards for data quality and testing.
- Partner with platform and operations teams on safe, low-impact extraction from production databases.
- Work directly with data consumers to ensure the platform answers real business questions.
- Mentor data engineers and help shape their work.
Requirements
- Substantial experience building and operating cloud data platforms, ideally including designing one from scratch.
- Deep SQL expertise and strong command of a cloud data warehouse such as Snowflake, BigQuery, or Databricks.
- Experience with a transformation framework such as dbt.
- Experience with ELT and change-data capture across relational sources.
- AWS experience, including read replicas, object storage, and cross-region data movement.
- Applied experience with dimensional or medallion modeling.
- Experience with workflow orchestration such as Airflow, Dagster, or Prefect and with data quality testing.
- Ability to make architectural decisions with incomplete information and assess the cost of decisions.
- Healthcare data experience, protected health information, multi-tenant data isolation, semantic or metrics layer design, and modern BI/self-service reporting tooling are preferred.
