Base Salary

Responsibilities

  • Define and evolve architecture for cloud-native, microservices, and event-driven platforms.
  • Create high- and low-level designs, integration patterns, API contracts, and reference implementations.
  • Lead design reviews, architectural forums, squads, and full software development lifecycle delivery.
  • Build core services using Java, Spring Boot, REST/GraphQL, and event-streaming technologies.
  • Establish coding standards, code review practices, secure-by-default patterns, and automated quality gates.
  • Mentor and coach senior engineers and support the development of technical leaders.
  • Design cloud, container orchestration, service mesh, infrastructure-as-code, secrets-management, and platform integration patterns.
  • Architect SQL/NoSQL, caching, and event-streaming integrations, including data contracts and schema evolution.
  • Partner with SRE and platform teams on monitoring, alerting, logging, tracing, reliability, and cost governance.
  • Embed application security, secure API and authentication practices, zero-trust patterns, and applicable compliance requirements.
  • Translate business needs into technical roadmaps and communicate architectural trade-offs to technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Requirements

  • At least 6 years of progressive experience building enterprise systems and at least 7 years of Java and Spring experience at scale.
  • Strong expertise in Java 11/17+, Spring Boot, Spring Cloud, REST/GraphQL APIs, Kafka or Pulsar, Kubernetes, Docker, relational and NoSQL databases, Redis, CI/CD, infrastructure as code, and observability tools.
  • Experience delivering cloud-native, microservices, and event-driven architectures.
  • Experience with AWS, Azure, or GCP and containerized distributed systems.
  • Strong understanding of concurrency, performance tuning, resiliency patterns, fault tolerance, data contracts, and eventual consistency.
  • Demonstrated leadership of architecture forums and design reviews, plus mentorship experience.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder-management skills.
  • Knowledge of MCP, A2A, and agentic architecture.
  • Bachelor’s or university degree, or equivalent experience.
  • Master’s degree, payments or financial-services domain experience, threat modeling, SAST/DAST, CDC, schema registries, service mesh, API gateways, serverless, and modern architectural patterns are preferred.
