Responsibilities
- Administer and manage GHX databases, including backup and recovery.
- Monitor database capacity and performance.
- Manage security and data access.
- Perform installations, upgrades, and patching.
- Provide 24/7 monitoring and on-call support for database issues.
- Guide and assist junior database engineers.
- Collaborate with DB platform engineers on upgrades and best practices.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related discipline or equivalent experience.
- 2-5 years of experience in Database Administration.
- In-depth knowledge of at least one RDBMS or No-SQL platform.
- Experience with hybrid and public cloud concepts.
- Ability to manage databases in a high transaction/high availability environment.
- Hands-on experience with Solaris, UNIX, Linux, or Windows operating systems.
- Experience with cloud-hosted databases, preferably AWS.
