Base Salary
$120k - $180k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain critical user-facing products and backend systems.
- Contribute to and evolve core backend architecture focusing on scalability and performance.
- Collaborate with product, operations, and leadership to align technical solutions with business needs.
- Drive best practices in software engineering, including code reviews, testing, and documentation.
- Shape engineering culture and contribute to hiring efforts.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in web development.
- Strong backend development skills with a preference for full stack engineers.
- Proven ability to create scalable performant solutions within aggressive deadlines.
- Experience working in Ruby or similar backend languages, with a willingness to learn.
- Familiarity with frontend technologies like React is a plus.
- Experience with AWS, terraform, and general infrastructure is a plus.
- Strong communication skills for cross-team collaboration.
- Self-starter mentality suitable for a fast-paced, early-stage environment.
- Empathy for end users, particularly low-to-moderate-income renters.
