Base Salary
$153k - $220k/yr
Responsibilities
- Own a large portion of one of Ashby’s products and run projects end-to-end.
- Research customer problems and competitors, write product specifications, create wireframes, and make product and design decisions.
- Build and ship frontend, backend, and infrastructure changes across the stack.
- Design reusable building blocks, abstractions, tools, and systems that increase engineering leverage.
- Collaborate with product managers, designers, infrastructure teams, and other engineers to deliver solutions.
- Investigate and resolve customer issues as part of the engineering team’s shared responsibilities.
- Participate in pair programming and collaborative technical, product, and infrastructure discussions during the interview process.
Requirements
- Experience owning and leading projects from problem definition through delivery.
- Ability to work across the technology stack, including frontend, backend, and infrastructure when needed.
- Experience handling significant product and technical ambiguity and building flexible abstractions for complex problems.
- Ability to balance speed and quality in a high-growth startup environment.
- Strong product thinking, customer orientation, collaboration, and communication skills.
- Ability to create leverage through automation, abstractions, tooling, and reusable building blocks.
- Ambition to improve skills and openness to frequent feedback.
- Prior experience with the listed technology stack is not required; strong fundamentals and an ability to learn quickly are valued.
- A love of typed languages is helpful.
