Responsibilities

  • Design and develop new systems and enhancements for high-traffic, large-scale software applications and data-flow processes.
  • Own technical strategy, architectural direction, solution design, and shared engineering standards across three teams.
  • Review and modernize infrastructure while improving reuse, simplification, scalability, reliability, security, latency, and fault tolerance.
  • Develop monitoring, alerting, application-performance, automated build, and deployment systems.
  • Lead resolution of systemic technical risks and dependencies spanning multiple products or teams.
  • Design and build a comprehensive QA platform or solution with the engineering teams.
  • Evaluate new tools and technologies, influence technology investments, and advise senior stakeholders.
  • Lead and mentor engineers, review code, support skill development, and guide best practices.
  • Support live applications through debugging, log and dashboard analysis, production issue handling, and on-call support.
  • Coordinate work-unit delivery, participate in stand-ups, escalate blockers, communicate timelines, and manage project goals.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related technical field.
  • 5+ years of experience building high-traffic web applications and deploying them to production with an emphasis on quality and maintainability.
  • Proficiency in one or more of Java, TypeScript, or Node.js, with willingness to learn the others.
  • Experience with cloud platforms, preferably AWS, and with supporting live applications and resolving production issues.
  • Experience writing SQL queries and working with SQL databases such as MySQL and NoSQL databases such as DynamoDB.
  • Experience with Terraform, Kubernetes, and Helm for infrastructure as code and deployment.
  • Experience with GitLab, Jenkins, and Sonar for code and build processes.
  • Experience working in Agile teams, handling production pressure, and supporting on-call operations.
  • Strong communication, documentation, self-management, cross-team collaboration, expectation management, and mentoring skills.
  • Preferred qualifications include entertainment or online ticketing experience, experience across diverse cultural and regulatory environments, and familiarity with using Claude or similar AI tools in the software development lifecycle.
