Responsibilities
- Drive the technical approach for the Player UI delivery team.
- Advise the leadership team on technical options.
- Support and mentor engineers within the delivery team.
- Own and develop the UI and UX of the video player across web and connected living room devices.
- Support initiatives requiring work in the video player stack.
- Help deliver a reliable, high-quality streaming experience across devices and network conditions.
Requirements
- Experience with vanilla JavaScript or TypeScript and comfort working outside frameworks such as React.
- Strong understanding of CSS and HTML5, including browser differences and multiple implementation approaches.
- Knowledge of modern software delivery practices and experience working on agile teams and reviewing code.
- Collaborative communication skills.
- Experience with connected living room devices such as Smart TVs, set-top boxes, or games consoles is beneficial.
- Experience with video playback or OTT, or knowledge of DASH, HLS, MSS, and DRM, is desirable but not essential.
