Responsibilities
- Set technical direction and architecture for the NHI Governance domain and its integration with shared platform services.
- Own complex, high-risk, cross-cutting initiatives from ambiguous problem definition through delivery.
- Define and drive adoption of standards, interfaces, and contracts used by multiple teams and products.
- Lead the server-side discovery, assessment, and remediation lifecycle for non-human identities across cloud and on-premise environments.
- Partner with product, design, and engineering leaders to align technical strategy with business goals.
- Mentor staff and senior engineers, raise technical standards, and improve engineering practices.
- Lead design reviews and make critical build-versus-buy and architectural trade-off decisions.
- Drive quality, security, observability, and performance across the domain.
Requirements
- Deep expertise architecting and delivering large-scale, distributed, cloud-native systems.
- Expert programming ability in C#, Go, TypeScript, Java, or other modern languages, with strong API and distributed-systems design expertise.
- Hands-on experience with Claude Code or comparable agentic AI coding tools, including setting effective patterns, standards, and guardrails.
- Track record of owning architecture and technical direction across multiple teams or an entire domain.
- Strong hands-on AWS expertise designing, hosting, and operating production applications at scale, including compute, networking, IAM, managed data stores, and scaling, reliability, and cost trade-offs.
- Deep understanding of CI/CD and hands-on Infrastructure as Code experience, such as Terraform or CloudFormation.
- Experience designing multi-tenant shared services consumed by other engineering teams.
- Familiarity with data modeling, exploration, and visualization at scale.
- Exceptional problem-solving, ambiguity management, communication, and cross-team influence skills.
- Preferred experience includes identity security, IAM, NHI/secrets, AWS IAM, Microsoft Entra ID, OAuth/OIDC, graph databases, graph data modeling, analytics at scale, and taking platform-native modules from 0 to 1 at enterprise scale.
