Base Salary
$125k - $135k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain software for engineering, test, and operational systems.
- Build tools and applications interfacing with hardware, instrumentation, controls, and data acquisition systems.
- Automate testing, experiments, data collection, analysis, and engineering workflows.
- Collaborate with software, electrical, mechanical, controls, test, and other technical engineering teams.
- Translate engineering requirements into reliable, maintainable software.
- Debug issues across software and hardware boundaries and help identify root causes.
- Develop tests, monitoring, and tooling to improve software and system reliability.
- Participate in design reviews, code reviews, testing, and technical documentation.
- Own projects from initial concept through implementation and deployment.
- Learn new technologies and technical domains as project needs evolve.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field completed by the start date.
- Programming experience in one or more general-purpose languages, including Python, C++, C, Rust, Go, or Java, through coursework, internships, research, student teams, or personal projects.
- Understanding of data structures, algorithms, debugging, testing, and version control.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to collaborate across disciplines.
- Interest in hands-on software interacting with physical systems and hardware.
- Evidence of exceptional ability through projects, portfolios, completed products, or similar work.
- Preferred experience includes Python or C++, hardware and instrumentation interfaces, Linux development, Git, automated testing, data acquisition, data processing, visualization, scientific computing, networking, databases, distributed systems, embedded software, control systems, robotics, or multidisciplinary technical projects.
- Ability to work extended hours and weekends as necessary.
