Base Salary

$125k - $135k/yr

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain software for engineering, test, and operational systems.
  • Build tools and applications interfacing with hardware, instrumentation, controls, and data acquisition systems.
  • Automate testing, experiments, data collection, analysis, and engineering workflows.
  • Collaborate with software, electrical, mechanical, controls, test, and other technical disciplines.
  • Translate engineering requirements into reliable, maintainable software.
  • Debug across software and hardware boundaries and identify root causes.
  • Develop tests, monitoring, and tooling to improve software and system reliability.
  • Participate in design reviews, code reviews, testing, and technical documentation.
  • Own projects from initial concept through implementation and deployment.
  • Learn new technologies and technical domains as project needs evolve.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field completed by the start date.
  • Programming experience in one or more general-purpose languages such as Python, C++, C, Rust, Go, or Java through coursework, internships, research, student teams, or personal projects.
  • Strong understanding of data structures, algorithms, debugging, testing, and version control.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in an interdisciplinary engineering environment.
  • Interest in hands-on software that interacts with physical systems and hardware.
  • Evidence of exceptional ability through prior projects, portfolios, or completed products.
  • Preferred experience with Python and/or C++, hardware, sensors, instrumentation, embedded systems, laboratory equipment, Linux development environments, command-line tools, Git, automated testing, data acquisition, data processing, visualization, scientific computing, networking, databases, distributed systems, embedded software, or control systems.
  • Preferred experience with robotics, Formula SAE, rocketry, research laboratories, maker projects, or other multidisciplinary technical teams.
  • Ability to independently build and complete technical projects and work in a fast-paced environment on challenging engineering problems.
