Responsibilities
- Build ServiceNow conversational experiences, knowledge capabilities, workflows, reusable actions, subflows, and agent tools for enterprise self-service.
- Engineer permissions-aware retrieval grounded in catalog, CMDB, service, and knowledge data.
- Define AI evaluation scenarios and release criteria for accuracy, grounding, task completion, unsafe actions, and human approval requirements.
- Design secure ServiceNow integrations with APIs, validation, retries, rollback, least-privilege access, secrets management, audit trails, and segregation of duties.
- Measure productivity outcomes including cycle time, manual steps removed, hours released, adoption, rework, support costs, and realized savings.
- Own production reliability through logs, alerts, root-cause analysis, monitoring, regression testing, runbooks, source control, and on-call participation.
- Provide technical leadership through design reviews, code reviews, mentoring, user guidance, and roadmap recommendations.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a closely related field, or equivalent work experience.
- 6+ years of enterprise software or platform engineering experience, including substantial hands-on ServiceNow experience with workflow automation, data models, access controls, JavaScript, platform APIs, and integrations.
- Demonstrated experience delivering enterprise self-service, conversational AI, intelligent automation, or agent-based solutions with measurable adoption.
- Practical expertise in SDLC and ADLC, including Agile/SCRUM practices, testing, release management, and DevOps practices.
- Experience building secure, compliant cloud-based applications with access controls and sensitive data handling, including familiarity with SOC 2.
- Experience providing technical leadership and mentoring to other engineers.
- Preferred experience with ServiceNow Employee Center, Virtual Agent, Now Assist, AI Agents, Flow Designer, Integration Hub, App Engine, ITSM, knowledge management, service catalog design, CMDB data quality, or service mapping.
- Preferred experience with HRSD, ITAM, SPM, ITOM, governed APIs, Model Context Protocol, AI evaluation datasets, production feedback loops, ServiceNow Automated Test Framework, deployment automation, or responsible AI lifecycle controls.
- Relevant ServiceNow certifications, such as Certified Application Developer or Certified System Administrator, supported by practical delivery experience.
- Must reside in or be willing to relocate to the greater Southfield, Michigan; greater Bellevue, Washington; or San Francisco Bay Area, California hub locations.
