Responsibilities
- Direct the APAC Forward Deployed Engineering squad, including technical strategy, operational direction, engagement qualification, and engineering-resource investment decisions.
- Architect large-scale hybrid-cloud AI platforms with high availability, performance, recovery, security, and compliance across on-premises, public-cloud, edge, and air-gapped environments.
- Lead complex integrations involving identity and access management, legacy data pipelines, network isolation, distributed runtimes, model serving, and hardware-optimized configurations.
- Bridge regional customer requirements with global product and ecosystem engineering hubs and translate operational feedback, telemetry, and adversarial testing into product improvements.
- Drive upstream contributions to open-source communities and provide governance or leadership within foundations such as LF AI & Data and CNCF.
- Establish and lead APAC developer meetups, workshops, and community programs involving vLLM, MLflow, Ray, PyTorch, and Kubernetes-AI ecosystems.
- Advise C-level stakeholders and government agencies on AI adoption, data residency, national regulations, operational resilience, and multi-year platform roadmaps.
- Architect localized on-premises AI deployment stacks using policy-as-code for regulatory compliance and security governance.
- Establish rigorous testing, release, benchmarking, and software development lifecycle practices for field-developed platform integrations.
- Coach senior technical staff, principal engineers, and regional engineering talent while leading cross-functional squads across Engineering, Sales, and Consulting.
Requirements
- 12+ years of experience in senior technology or architectural leadership roles.
- At least 5 years serving Financial Services, Government, or other highly regulated sectors.
- At least 5 years of active participation, leadership, or working-group management within major open-source foundations.
- Extensive experience architecting and managing Kubernetes-based application platforms across on-premises, public-cloud, and edge environments.
- Deep proficiency in Go, C, C++, or Python and a proven record as an active contributor or maintainer in major open-source communities.
- Expert knowledge of distributed inference, MLOps or LLMOps pipelines, model-serving architectures, and LLM orchestrators such as LangChain and LlamaIndex.
- Practical experience with cloud-native operator patterns, policy engines, and data-pipeline frameworks such as Docling.
- Familiarity with CUDA, ROCm, driver configurations, and GPU/NPU operator management.
- A proven record of establishing and scaling technical communities or meetups across multiple APAC markets.
- Ability to influence C-level stakeholders on major capital and multi-million-dollar technology investments.
- Exceptional ability to lead virtual, cross-functional squads across Engineering, Sales, and Consulting without direct authority.
- High professional integrity and awareness of sensitive customer data handling and local compliance laws.
