Responsibilities
- Own the technical direction of Apollo's most critical and ambiguous cross-team problems
- Make and remain accountable for multi-year architectural decisions shaping the product and platform
- Set the technical strategy for Apollo's rebuild around AI and agents
- Raise organization-wide engineering standards through patterns, decisions, and practices
- Multiply engineering output through design, review, and mentorship of senior engineers
- Partner with engineering and product leadership on the company's technology direction
Requirements
- Track record of setting technical direction that shaped a product or platform across an entire engineering organization
- Deep expertise in distributed systems and architecture, including reliability, scale, and cost tradeoffs
- Strong judgment in ambiguous, high-stakes situations and the influence to align multiple teams
- Record of multiplying the effectiveness of senior engineers through technical leadership and mentorship
- Current fluency with AI-assisted development and a clear perspective on the future of AI in engineering
