Responsibilities
- Lead the architectural design, implementation, and deployment of complex, scalable, resilient full-stack applications.
- Guide, coach, mentor, and review the work of developers and analysts while allocating team assignments.
- Develop backend services using Java and provide hands-on application development across the technology stack.
- Design real-time data-processing and event-driven architectures using Apache Kafka and related streaming technologies.
- Implement Docker containerization, Kubernetes orchestration, and CI/CD pipelines for reliable software delivery.
- Provide architectural governance and enforce standards for coding, testing, debugging, and implementation.
- Partner with management teams and business stakeholders to define system enhancements and translate business goals into technical solutions.
- Evaluate complex business processes and system flows to resolve high-impact problems and deliver durable solutions.
- Assess technology and business risks and ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and ethical standards.
Requirements
- At least 7 years of relevant experience in applications development or systems analysis.
- Proven technical leadership experience, including leadership and project management of successful implementations.
- Hands-on experience with Apache Kafka for event-driven architectures and real-time data pipelines.
- Production experience with Docker and Kubernetes.
- Deep subject-matter expertise in at least one core applications-development area and understanding of business, architecture, and infrastructure integration.
- Ability to adapt priorities, work in a fast-paced environment, and communicate complex technical concepts clearly.
- Bachelor’s or university degree, or equivalent experience; a master’s degree is preferred.
- FinTech or large financial-institution experience is highly preferred.
- Investor-services experience in custody, fund accounting, transfer agency, or asset servicing is advantageous.
- Experience with AWS, Google Cloud Platform, or Azure is preferred.
