Base Salary
$176k - $264k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and test embedded C software for safety-critical multicore automotive microcontrollers.
- Develop base software including RTOS components, device drivers, scheduling, and bootloaders; middleware including inter-component messaging and end-to-end protection; and vehicle application components.
- Integrate Nuro Driver with new vehicle platforms by implementing CAN and Ethernet interfaces with OEM ECUs and adapting actuator and body-control interfaces.
- Perform device and vehicle bring-up, prototyping, debugging, and validation across multiple vehicle platforms.
- Build and maintain unit-test, hardware-in-the-loop, and vehicle-test verification infrastructure.
- Define software requirements from system safety requirements and implement and verify them with full traceability within an ISO 26262 process.
- Collaborate with systems, safety, hardware, controls, autonomy, OEM, and supplier engineers.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a closely related field.
- At least 3 years of industry experience developing embedded software in C, including work with a real-time operating system.
- Knowledge of data structures, concurrency, algorithm design, microcontroller internals, and peripherals.
- Depth in at least one of device drivers, CAN or automotive Ethernet, bootloaders and software updates, embedded security, or vehicle-level integration and testing.
- Ability to use debug probes, oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and CAN tools for hardware and software debugging.
- Preferred experience includes 5+ years of automotive or autonomous-vehicle embedded development and a production launch.
- Preferred experience includes ISO 26262, DO-178C, or IEC 62304 safety-critical development.
- Preferred experience includes Infineon AURIX TC3xx, SafeRTOS, FreeRTOS, AUTOSAR Classic, MCAL, communication stacks, DBC, ARXML, UDS diagnostics, E2E protection, time synchronization, vehicle functions, vehicle dynamics, or control theory.
