Responsibilities

  • Rearchitect LangChain’s billing pipeline into a self-serve platform that enables engineering teams to launch pricing models without enterprise team review.
  • Design and implement configurable usage-based and token-based pricing infrastructure using Python and Go.
  • Build shared pricing primitives and components that reduce the time and complexity required to launch new pricing SKUs.
  • Implement audit logging, usage tracking, and metering pipelines focused on billing correctness.
  • Integrate with Metronome, Orb, Stripe, and other billing and payment platforms for metering and invoicing.
  • Own billing reconciliation, deduplication, proration, disputes, and credits to ensure accurate invoicing at scale.
  • Partner with the billing PM, enterprise engineering, and product teams to define and prioritize the pricing infrastructure roadmap.
  • Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented backend code.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of backend engineering experience with Python or Go, with both preferred.
  • Hands-on experience building or scaling usage-based, subscription, or consumption billing infrastructure.

  • Familiarity with Postgres, Redis, APIs, and modern distributed backend infrastructure.
  • Strong ownership and ability to work in a fast-paced, unstructured startup environment.
  • Experience with token-based or usage-based cost tracking, especially at LLM or API-first companies, is preferred.
