Responsibilities
- Shape the technical direction and roadmap for Core Backend, including shared services, libraries, and developer tools.
- Design and evolve shared backend capabilities for event-driven communication, application-level encryption, and sensitive data protection.
- Build and improve the Service Catalog, API Registry, SLO platform, and AI-assisted development tools.
- Drive complex initiatives from discovery and design through implementation, rollout, and production validation.
- Partner with engineering teams on tool adoption, integrations, migrations, and feedback-driven improvements.
- Develop hands-on with Go, validate performance and failure scenarios, and build observability and recovery mechanisms.
- Lead architecture reviews, make technical decisions, mentor engineers, and create documentation for shared systems.
Requirements
- 7+ years of backend engineering experience, including building and operating production systems at scale.
- Strong Go experience and a record of remaining hands-on in senior technical roles.
- Deep expertise in distributed, high-load systems; the stated stack includes PostgreSQL, Redis, Kubernetes, GCP, GitLab, and microservices.
- Proven ownership of complex initiatives from design through production, including architecture and technology decisions with lasting impact.
- Strong understanding of quality, security, observability, and operational excellence.
- Experience integrating third-party APIs and contributing to product development.
- Ability to influence decisions across teams and explain technical topics clearly to non-technical stakeholders.
- Experience mentoring engineers and raising the technical bar across a team or organization.
- Strong English and a proactive, autonomous approach to ambiguous problems.
