Responsibilities
- Design, build, operate, and optimize enterprise relational, NoSQL, and cloud-native database platforms across on-premises and cloud environments.
- Engineer high availability, disaster recovery, replication, backup, failover, performance, security, observability, and capacity-management capabilities for database platforms.
- Operate IBM MQ, RabbitMQ, IBM WebSphere, IBM IHS, Tomcat, Apache HTTP Server, SiteMinder, MuleSoft, API gateways, and integration platforms.
- Build Terraform, Ansible, Jenkins, CI/CD, and GitOps automation for database, middleware, schema, and integration deployments.
- Design messaging, API, streaming, distributed-tracing, monitoring, and microservices traffic-management capabilities.
- Set platform engineering standards, reusable infrastructure-as-code patterns, and reference architectures.
- Lead production readiness reviews, technical design assessments, proofs of concept, and build-versus-buy recommendations.
- Mentor engineers and improve reliability, reduce toil and technical debt, and support compliance, audit, data lineage, and regulatory evidence activities.
Requirements
- At least 12 years of professional experience is required.
- 15 years of full-time education is required.
- Experience with Oracle RAC, Data Guard, ASM, RMAN, AWR/ASH, schema design, performance tuning, and enterprise HA/DR.
- Experience with SQL Server AlwaysOn AG, SSAS, SSIS, SSRS, query tuning, execution plans, indexing, and high availability.
- Experience with PostgreSQL replication, partitioning, VACUUM tuning, pg_stat analysis, TimescaleDB, PostGIS, and Citus.
- Experience operating MongoDB replica sets, sharded clusters, Atlas, aggregation pipelines, indexes, and change streams.
- Experience with AWS RDS/Aurora, GCP Cloud SQL/Spanner, and Azure Cosmos DB, including provisioning, replication, HA, and cost optimization.
- Experience with CA SiteMinder, IBM WebSphere, WebLogic, JBoss, Tomcat, IBM IHS, Apache HTTP Server, and IBM MQ.
- Experience with Terraform, Ansible, Jenkins, CI/CD, and infrastructure provisioning automation.
- Experience with MuleSoft Anypoint Platform, RAML/OAS, DataWeave, Mule runtime, CloudHub, and API-led connectivity.
- Experience with Prometheus/Grafana, Datadog, ELK, distributed tracing, message-lag monitoring, and database observability.
- Knowledge of PCI DSS, SOX, DORA, encryption, audit logging, data residency, data masking, and regulatory evidence.
- Preferred experience includes CDC, Debezium, event sourcing, CQRS, Kafka, GraphQL, AsyncAPI, FinOps, and consulting in financial services or regulated industries.
- Mandatory certifications include Oracle DB Certified Professional, Microsoft SQL Server/Azure Data, MuleSoft, IBM WAS/IBM MQ, AWS Database Specialty, and Terraform/Ansible certifications.
