Responsibilities
- Lead the architecture, development, administration, and support of full-stack enterprise HR applications.
- Perform approximately 80% hands-on architecture, development, and administration and 20% technical leadership.
- Develop backend services and APIs using Java and/or Python and frontend interfaces using React or similar technologies.
- Design and troubleshoot applications using SQL and relational databases, including OLTP databases.
- Create functional and detailed design documents, software configuration plans, unit test plans, data mappings, and system interface specifications.
- Participate in architecture, design, development, testing, production operations, code reviews, and deployment activities.
- Collaborate with business analysts and business partners to understand requirements, review designs, conduct testing, and demonstrate products.
- Identify and escalate risks, issues, and blockers.
- Mentor and coach team members while coordinating work across global and onshore/offshore teams.
- Maintain technical documentation in accordance with bank policies and procedures.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in information technology, information systems, computer science, or a related field.
- At least 10 years of software development experience in cross-functional teams and experience leading or guiding teams in an onshore/offshore model.
- At least 10 years of experience implementing technology solutions at banks or financial institutions.
- At least 3 years of experience with OpenShift, Kubernetes, and AWS technologies.
- At least 5 years of experience designing OLTP databases.
- Experience with Java, Python, React or similar frontend technologies, SQL, J2EE, Angular, and microservices.
- Experience with JBoss, Tomcat, or similar web application servers.
- Experience with REST, SOAP, and WSDL web services.
- Experience with Git-based version control systems, including GitHub, and developer tools such as IDEs and command-line interfaces.
- Experience with GitHub Copilot and prompt-based AI capabilities for Java, Python, React, and SQL development is preferred.
- Experience with automated testing, code reviews, production deployment and operations, data security principles, technology controls, and regulatory or compliance requirements.
- Experience writing functional and detailed design documents and working with Agile and Waterfall SDLC methodologies.
- Strong system analysis, application design, analytical, troubleshooting, communication, documentation, prioritization, and decision-making skills.
