Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain moderately complex software applications using Python, Java, or C++.
- Implement secure, reliable, scalable software aligned with DoD standards and mission requirements.
- Optimize software performance and scalability and resolve software defects.
- Develop and execute test plans, conduct code reviews, and ensure software quality.
- Lead small project teams and provide technical guidance on project activities.
- Collaborate with program managers, project managers, systems engineers, cybersecurity specialists, and other stakeholders.
- Prepare and maintain technical documentation, system designs, workflows, test plans, reports, and presentations.
- Build and manage data and software solutions that support program-performance insight and data-driven decision-making.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
- 4+ years of relevant experience or equivalent work experience.
- Proficiency in Python, Java, or C++.
- Understanding of software development life cycles, including design, coding, testing, and deployment.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently on moderately complex assignments.
- Preferred: experience with Git, Visual Studio, or Eclipse.
- Preferred: familiarity with Agile development methodologies and practices.
- Preferred: knowledge of DoD software development standards, cybersecurity principles, or secure coding practices.
- Preferred: experience with cloud computing platforms or containerization tools such as AWS or Docker.
- Strong communication and stakeholder-interfacing skills.
- Ability to obtain a Secret clearance; no minimum clearance is required.
