Base Salary
$176k - $242k/yr
Responsibilities
- Build and own core merchant platform services and data models for stores, facilities, brands, and entitlement-driven configuration.
- Design reliable onboarding services that take restaurants from signup to serving orders without manual intervention.
- Build backend systems for self-serve signup, activation, and conversion flows.
- Design offboarding and lifecycle-cleanup systems that shut down merchant services cleanly.
- Own services end to end by designing, building, instrumenting, debugging, and improving reliability and performance.
Requirements
- Proficiency in Java or Go for production backend services.
- Solid foundation in distributed systems, microservices, and API design using gRPC and/or REST.
- Experience with databases such as PostgreSQL or CockroachDB and writing performant queries.
- Experience designing data models and core domain objects used by other teams.
- Experience operating services in production and collaborating with a product-minded approach.
- Preferred experience includes workflow orchestration with Temporal or Cadence, event-driven architectures with Kafka, authentication and authorization systems, API modernization, marketplace or merchant platforms, subscription or billing systems, cloud platforms, and containers.
