Base Salary

Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and evolve secure, scalable Java and Spring Boot microservices and APIs for Mastercard’s global B2B platform.
- Translate business and product requirements into reliable, maintainable technical solutions and contribute to architecture and technical design.
- Integrate services with Angular applications, databases, internal platforms, and third-party systems while optimizing SQL and database solutions for high-volume workloads.
- Use AI-assisted development tools for coding, testing, debugging, documentation, code reviews, security analysis, and software quality improvements with human oversight.
- Apply enterprise security patterns, cloud-native practices, 12-factor principles, and engineering governance throughout the development lifecycle.
- Participate in code reviews, pull requests, retrospectives, technical discussions, and continuous improvement activities.
- Troubleshoot production and performance issues, improve reliability and resiliency, collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders, and mentor engineers.
Requirements
- Extensive experience designing and developing Java applications, Spring Boot services, RESTful APIs, and enterprise microservices.
- Strong understanding of microservice architecture, distributed systems, API design, and cloud-native development.
- Experience using AI-assisted development tools across coding, refactoring, testing, debugging, documentation, delivery, code review, security analysis, dependency management, and automated testing.
- Strong SQL and database development skills with PostgreSQL or Oracle, including optimization for high-volume transactional systems.
- Knowledge of enterprise application security, including OAuth, mutual TLS, authorization, payload encryption, secrets management, and secure coding.
- Experience improving application performance, scalability, reliability, and resiliency in production environments.
- Understanding of automated testing, CI/CD, Git-based development, code reviews, observability, and operational readiness.
- Ability to translate complex business and product requirements into secure, testable, maintainable, and supportable solutions.
- Ability to work independently, manage competing priorities, make technical decisions with minimal supervision, and communicate effectively with technical and non-technical audiences.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or equivalent practical experience.
- Preferred: experience in commercial cards, B2B payments, payments technology, corporate banking, enterprise integrations, external APIs, cloud platforms, observability, deployment, or platform engineering.
