Responsibilities
- Design, document, develop, test, deploy, maintain, and improve commercially successful software products.
- Define architecture, make technical design decisions, and guide engineering standards using a platform approach.
- Develop security-video capabilities including live streaming, recording, event detection, device connectivity, and video data at scale.
- Design reliable event-driven interactions between cameras and other connected devices.
- Build secure, highly available, observable, performant systems with strong recovery characteristics.
- Partner with product, UX, firmware, cloud, and security teams to deliver customer experiences.
- Mentor developers through coaching, code reviews, and technical direction.
- Contribute to Agile/Scrum planning, stand-ups, backlog refinement, reviews, retrospectives, and continuous delivery improvements.
- Travel to the US and Asia as needed.
Requirements
- 5+ years of software development experience.
- 3+ years of object-oriented programming experience using C/C++.
- 3+ years of Linux experience, ideally with embedded Linux and Yocto.
- Experience with embedded product development.
- Embedded Linux firmware experience for connected devices and security-video products is valued.
- Knowledge of image processing, computer vision, video-based features, and connected-device integration is valued.
- Experience with Git, GitHub Actions, Jira, and Confluence is valued.
- Strong communication, problem-solving, collaboration, customer focus, and attention to detail.
- Interest in developer-driven AI workflows and applying AI to engineering productivity and product capabilities.
- Commitment to reliable, maintainable software and a test-driven development mindset.
