Responsibilities
- Own end-to-end architecture across native mobile, backend, and the navify cloud, including app-to-cloud integration boundaries.
- Write technical designs, architecture decision records, and C4 models that engineering teams can implement.
- Design Java and Spring backend services, modular systems, domain-driven architectures, APIs, and integration flows.
- Shape the AI-augmented software development lifecycle using agentic tools such as Claude Code and ChatGPT, including standards and guardrails for regulated environments.
- Design data and integration flows involving identity, consent, notifications, AI, and FHIR capabilities on the navify Platform.
- Guide technical direction, trade-offs, design reviews, prototyping, mentoring, and documentation across squads.
- Promote reuse of shared mobile, cloud, and platform foundations while keeping products audit-ready.
Requirements
- Strong track record as a Software Architect designing across mobile, backend, and cloud rather than a single layer.
- Depth in Java, Spring, modular and domain-driven design, APIs, integration, cloud-native patterns, DevOps, and CI/CD.
- Hands-on experience using agentic AI tools such as Claude Code and the ability to assess their reliability and limitations.
- Ability to create actionable technical designs, decision records, and C4 models and help teams reach decisions.
- Experience in regulated or safety-critical environments; Software as a Medical Device experience is a strong plus.
- Strong communication, mentoring, trade-off analysis, and technical leadership skills without relying on formal reporting authority.
- Comfort with hands-on prototyping when needed.
- Experience with a major cloud provider, FHIR, healthcare data standards, identity and consent platforms, reference architecture, platform teams, or deeper SaMD experience is beneficial.
