Responsibilities

  • Develop software applications for complex and critical tasks.
  • Design and refine application architecture and define technical solutions for new features.
  • Manage, maintain, and deploy existing systems and applications for functionality and performance.
  • Maintain high test coverage across unit, functional, and integration test suites.
  • Manage software release timelines and status, and perform releases with development teams.
  • Provide production support by investigating and recreating reported defects.
  • Mentor, guide, and train team members.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to meet project goals and deliverables.
  • Evaluate and adopt application best practices to improve security and performance.
  • Lead discussions on technical tradeoffs, scalability, flexibility, stability, and simplicity.
  • Participate in interviews and organizational initiatives.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in a relevant field such as Computer Science or Engineering.
  • 6+ years of professional experience.
  • Subject-matter expertise in front-end and/or back-end technologies including HTML, CSS, Angular, .NET, .NET Core, MVC, web services, RESTful services, and JavaScript.
  • Experience with AWS DevOps.
  • Ability to define technical solutions that meet business requirements.
  • Strong software development fundamentals, including modularization and object-oriented design.
  • Understanding of broad system architecture, team application architecture, and application environments.
  • Ability to write production-quality code in one major programming language or framework.
  • Ability to make tactical and strategic technical tradeoff decisions and define architecture for new features.
  • Knowledge of coding standards, best practices, and design patterns.
  • Ability to diagnose problems in unfamiliar codebases and lead discussions about alternative approaches.
  • Understanding of Atom architecture principles related to scalability, flexibility, stability, and simplicity.
  • Preferred: familiarity with GitHub Copilot.
