Responsibilities
- Lead architecture, design, and implementation of complex multisystem solutions across digital products.
- Define system specifications, architectural requirements, coding standards, integration patterns, and data pipeline standards.
- Provide full-stack technical leadership across React/Redux front ends, Java/Spring Boot and Python services, secure APIs, and cloud-native systems.
- Lead design reviews and define, implement, and validate scalability, reliability, performance, availability, security, and other non-functional requirements.
- Guide teams in operational excellence, resilience, fault tolerance, disaster recovery, production readiness, and observability.
- Establish standards for logs, metrics, traces, dashboards, and alerts using observability platforms.
- Drive platform standardization through reusable architectural patterns, shared components, and common frameworks.
- Mentor and coach engineers and promote best practices for engineering, design, documentation, code review, and operational readiness.
- Collaborate with product managers, UX, architecture, and cross-functional teams on roadmaps and long-term technology direction.
- Lead AI-assisted engineering practices, agent-oriented development patterns, prompt design, tool orchestration, guardrails, and verified AI-generated code, tests, and documentation.
Requirements
- At least 8 years of experience designing and developing backend applications using Java frameworks, servlets, J2EE, and Spring or Spring Boot.
- At least 6 years of experience developing front-end applications using JavaScript, HTML, CSS, React, and Redux.
- At least 4 years operating cloud-native systems in AWS or Azure with Docker and Kubernetes or EKS.
- At least 4 years building serverless applications using AWS Lambda and API Gateway or equivalent.
- At least 5 years designing and integrating databases including MongoDB, DynamoDB, and relational databases.
- Experience aligning technology strategy with architects, product leaders, and principal engineers.
- Experience designing secure systems and implementing authentication and authorization frameworks such as OAuth, OIDC, and SAML.
- Demonstrated ability to lead design reviews, mentor engineers, and influence teams across organizational boundaries.
- Hands-on observability experience with metrics, logs, traces, dashboards, alerts, SLOs, SLAs, and on-call readiness.
- Experience designing for scalability, reliability, performance, availability, load shedding, autoscaling, partitioning, caching, and high availability or failover.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a closely related field.
- Preferred qualifications include AWS or Azure certifications, event-driven architecture and distributed messaging experience, cross-team architectural pattern experience, and AI-assisted engineering or Vibe Coding experience.
