Responsibilities
- Manage systems across their lifecycle from inception through production maintenance.
- Define automated monitoring, deployment, and repair strategies using operations tools and monitoring platforms.
- Build and maintain deployment, monitoring, and operations tools.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues in test and production systems.
- Support and improve CI/CD processes and mentor teams on process improvements.
- Design and build fault-tolerant, scalable software and infrastructure systems.
- Provide primary operational support and engineering for test and production systems.
- Participate in post-mortems and contribute to system sustainability through automation.
- Collaborate with development and release teams to improve services through testing.
- Balance feature-release velocity with service-level objectives.
- Research emerging technologies, tools, platforms, and frameworks.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education, training, or work experience.
- At least 2 years of experience in systems administration, DevOps, Site Reliability Engineering, and/or software development.
- Experience with OpenShift and Kubernetes or similar container orchestration tools.
- Experience working with CI/CD processes and creating and maintaining CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or similar tools.
- Experience with a programming or scripting language such as Python, PowerShell, Bash, Java, C#, or Ruby.
- Experience analyzing and troubleshooting scalable distributed systems.
- Knowledge of source code control tools such as Git, GitLab, GitHub, or Bitbucket.
- Experience with Linux, including Red Hat Enterprise Linux, and/or Windows operating systems.
- Ability to automate routine tasks, debug code, and optimize code.
- Preferred experience with cloud computing, storage, and hosting functionality; Puppet, Chef, or Ansible; SSL/TLS/PKI infrastructure; large-scale configuration management; monitoring, alerting, incident response, root cause analysis, and automated testing.
- Strong analytical, decision-making, and problem-solving skills with the ability to multitask and communicate effectively.
