Responsibilities
- Own and evolve DevOps and platform engineering across build and deployment pipelines, monitoring, infrastructure as code, and cost optimization.
- Design and maintain secure, scalable CI/CD pipelines that support rapid product iteration while preserving stability.
- Improve observability using Datadog, GCP, and custom dashboards, including FinOps-focused outcomes.
- Implement FinOps governance through showback and chargeback models to promote engineering cost accountability.
- Create internal tooling and reusable modules that simplify infrastructure and improve developer productivity.
- Help engineering teams define and measure SLOs and establish standards for system health and reliability.
- Advise Product and Engineering on cost-effective architectural patterns for new services and features.
- Shape DevOps practices, engineering culture, and the long-term DevOps roadmap.
- Collaborate with Product Engineering, Security, Finance, and other teams to align technical spending with business and financial goals.
Requirements
- At least 6 years of experience in DevOps, SRE, or software engineering roles.
- Proficiency in Python or Go and strong software engineering fundamentals.
- Proven ownership of production infrastructure and platform tooling, including debugging distributed systems and investigating unexpected financial spikes.
- Experience designing secure, robust infrastructure for stringent regulatory environments such as government agencies and major financial institutions.
- Deep experience with Kubernetes, ArgoCD, Helm, and Terraform.
- Familiarity with GCP or other major cloud providers, including cloud cost management, reserved instances or savings plans, and cost anomaly detection.
- Hands-on experience with FinOps tooling such as Kubecost, AWS Cost Explorer, GCP Cloud Billing, or DoIT Cloud Intelligence, or experience building custom cost allocation and reporting tools.
- Strong experience building CI/CD pipelines and internal developer tooling from the ground up.
- Hands-on experience with Prometheus or Datadog and participation in an on-call rotation.
