Responsibilities
- Ensure the reliability, availability, and performance of production systems through monitoring, alerting, incident response, and operational best practices.
- Provide end-to-end application support, maintain knowledge of infrastructure and support processes, and manage escalation procedures.
- Develop and maintain automation for deployment, scaling, infrastructure operations, and other operational tasks.
- Respond to outages and incidents, drive rapid resolution, and conduct post-mortem analysis to prevent recurrence.
- Design and implement monitoring and alerting systems and resolve performance bottlenecks across applications and infrastructure.
- Design, implement, and manage CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions.
- Deploy and operate applications on Google Kubernetes Engine and manage Kubernetes nodes, autoscaling, configuration, and secrets.
- Develop and maintain Helm charts, including templates, hooks, and packaging, for complex deployments.
- Configure and support gateways, virtual services, and service mesh technologies such as Istio or Anthos Service Mesh.
- Collaborate with development teams to design reliable and scalable services and continuously improve infrastructure, tools, processes, and documentation.
Requirements
- Must have proficiency in Infrastructure as Code with Terraform.
- Must have experience with CI/CD, including GitHub Actions.
- Requires expertise administering and operating Kubernetes and GKE, including Docker-based images and deployments.
- Requires experience developing Helm charts, including templates, hooks, and packaging.
- Requires experience with Google Cloud or OpenShift Cloud and enterprise security management solutions such as GCP Secret Manager.
- Requires working knowledge of monitoring tools such as GCO, Prometheus, and Grafana.
- Requires strong hands-on experience with service mesh technologies such as Istio or Anthos Service Mesh.
- Requires software development or scripting experience in at least one of Java, JavaScript, Python, Go, or Bash.
- Requires exposure to delivering quality code in enterprise-scale development environments and knowledge of software development processes, models, lifecycles, and methodologies.
- Requires the ability to use AI tools to improve productivity and workflows while applying responsible and ethical judgment to data and AI outputs.
