Base Salary
$235k - $300k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain the operating system platform for on-board devices and applications.
- Architect and implement platform-level software for robust, scalable robotics infrastructure.
- Configure and manage Embedded Linux build systems such as Yocto and bootloader processes such as U-Boot.
- Develop and optimize device drivers and kernel-space components using C, C++, or Rust.
- Support OS platform integration and delivery, issue triage, new hardware bring-up, and manufacturing functions.
Requirements
- 8+ years delivering production systems and software applications, including 2+ years delivering custom Embedded Linux operating systems.
- Deep understanding of Linux, Yocto build systems, and U-Boot bootloaders.
- Familiarity with systemd, chroot, cgroups, Linux namespaces, containerization concepts, and filesystems.
- Proficiency in a language without automatic memory management, such as C or C++, plus multiple scripting languages such as bash and Python.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
- Bonus: embedded Linux experience in robotics applications.
- Bonus: familiarity with PKI, secure boot, OTA software updates, and hardware key storage.
- Bonus: familiarity with Nvidia GPUs, Nvidia Thor/Orin, CUDA, and TRT.
- Bonus: graduate degree focused on networking, operating systems, or firmware.
